Born in Danville, Pennsylvania and the youngest of 7 children, I cannot remember a time when water was not a part of my life. I learned to swim at the age of 4 and swam my first race at the age of 5, swimming competitively until age 15. After a break from the pool and finishing my BS in Computer Applications and Information Systems, I moved to Virginia Beach, VA and have not been far from the beach or pool since then.
After traveling extensively with my job for several years, and even living in England for a bit, I settled down in the Richmond VA area and met my lifetime Dive Buddy, RJ. I decided that an open water certification for my birthday celebration was the thing for me, and became certified in 2000. I am currently a Divemaster and plan on continuing to the instructor level for both Emergency Services and Diving. During surface intervals, I am an RN in a local Emergency Department and continue to further both my dive and nursing education, volleyball, underwater and on land photography.
I don’t have a favorite dive destination, as anywhere I can see the amazing underwater world in all its glory is fine with me. It doesn’t hurt if it is 86 degree bright blue water with 100 foot vis, sea turtles, christmas tree worms, and a gajillion fish and sea life to photograph though – kinda like most anywhere in the Caribbean!
Hope to see you all soon! Glub Glub!
