Rescue Diver


No diver education is complete without the Rescue Diver course. Continuing your training is one of the best steps you can take to become a safe and educated diver for yourself and the divers around you.

In this course you will:

  • Expand knowledge and experience
  • Consider the safety and well being of other divers
  • Be more confident in and near the water
  • Prepare you to prevent problems
  • Manage dive emergencies


You earn your Rescue Diver rating by reviewing the material and mastery of rescue scenarios in Open Water:

  • Home Study
  • Watch the course video or DVD
  • Read the text book
  • Complete the knowledge reviews
  • Academic Session
  • Summarize and review textbook Discuss additional information
  • Questions/answers
  • Training Dives
  • Rescue Training Scenarios
  • Certification Dives
  • Open water rescue Scenarios

Expectations For Students

  • Advanced Open Water Diver Certification Required
  • Medic/First Aid/CPR training within past 24 months (All offered at Atlantis Divers)
  • Each student needs to be in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water
  • Students must be older than the age of 15
  • Maintain a good attitude
  • Complete all knowledge reviews
  • Adherence to Instructor guidance
  • Be on time for class

Before the Academic Sessions:

  • Read, watch video, and prepare
  • Complete knowledge reviews
  • All fees paid

Course Supplies:

  • Crew-Pak/Textbook Log Book
  • Video or DVD

Basic Dive Gear:

  • Fins
  • Booties
  • Mask
  • Snorkel
  • Weight belt
  • Weights

We find that students perform better and enjoy their scuba experience more if properly fitted and maintained personal gear has been used.
