Atlantis Divers Emergency Services (ADES) Presents...

EMERGENCY CLASSES
For the Community and Workplace

About ADES
A word from the Training Director.

ADES stands for Atlantis Divers Emergency Services and its overwhelming growth has been a direct result of its Instructors and their backgrounds. I myself am a former Fire Fighter/EMT and my experience background was with the Gaithersburg Fire Department and the Wheaton Rescue Squad.

I had a rare opportunity in 1998 to live in Abaco, Bahamas, where I had a small role helping with the birth of the first EMS Service in Abaco - “Trauma One.” We started with one ambulance and a network of boats and small planes for island rescue. It was at this time that I found I truly loved teaching and wanted to surround myself with others who also loved teaching Emergency Response and had a similar level of experience to my own.

Atlantis Divers brought together professional Instructors with years of experience in training First Aid providers and Rescue Divers. The issue for the Instructors was that most First Aid classes provided in the community lacked a degree of thoroughness, and students felt rushed and uncertain of their skills. Many students were unsure of how to handle an emergency and instead of feeling pride and confidence for obtaining this level of achievement and knowledge, these students felt quite the opposite.

It was decided from day one that ADES would NOT be just another quick First Aid shop. ADES Instructors take pride in their dedication to thoroughly train their students to be able to recognize, respond and handle emergency situations in a fun, exciting and positive atmosphere.

It’s the goal of ADES for each student to leave feeling confident in their rescue skills. Also, we wanted to ensure that our training would solve the never-ending concern about what agency provides specific emergency certification for the workplace. ADES staff will work with companies to formulate the proper emergency action plans and help determine the best fit for their training needs.

ADES became the only truly multi-agency First Aid School in the Richmond community. ALL ADES Instructors have years of real life rescue experience and have been recognized by multiple agencies in the field. ADES also continually tests and requires Instructors to attend ADES Emergency Simulation Training along with monthly updates. I am so truly proud of the ADES Instructors and the efforts and professionalism they provide.

ADES is committed to the community and offers easily customized training for the various needs for Virginia workers and communities with day, evening, weeknight and onsite training. We also provide continuing education and real life emergency simulations that can be attended throughout the year.

Looking for a certification card is easy and can be obtained almost anywhere but if you’re truly looking for something more and the confidence and knowledge that comes from the best training available, then ADES emergency training is for you.

Thank you for your time and feel free to email me directly with any questions you may have,

David M. Hay

NAUI Scores the US Coast Guard

NAUI and Atlantis Divers is pleased to announce the acceptance of our First Aid Training Course by the United States Coast Guard. This is in addition to meeting International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) recommendations.

Shortly after the publication of our First Aid Textbook and Instructor Guide, we submitted our instructional materials to the United States Coast Guard for their review and possible recognition and approval. We have just received a letter from their Training and Assessment Division accepting our course. The letter states that our course meets or exceeds the standards of the American Red Cross Standard First Aid and Emergency Care or Multimedia Standard First Aid and will satisfy the first aid training requirements of 46 CFR 10.205(h)(1)(iii) for a merchant mariner license.

Sat, 26 May 2007 22:02:00 GMT

The approval is effective June 1, 2007. We are elated that the quality and thoroughness of our new first aid course has warranted this recognition by the USCG. Once again, NAUI is recognized as a leader in education, training and safety in the industry.

This new First Aid Training Course trains community members, divers, and leaders in the knowledge and skills needed to render emergency care at the scene of an accident or respond to an emergency. NAUI course graduates are considered competent to perform consistent with the level of training completed.
