We are Richmond’s only full service, multi-agency dive center, able to certify divers from Basic Open Water Diver through Instructor and Instructor-Trainer, all in-house. Atlantis is the region’s oldest and only Pro Platinum Scuba Facility, certified and licensed by more agencies than any other shop in the Richmond area.
The team at Atlantis has been exploring and diving the oceans of the world since 1963. The Atlantis Divers staff has the only NAUI Course Director in the area with over 30 years of professional scuba instructing.
Along with hundreds of years’ worth of combined diving experience, Atlantis Divers has a rich history of exploration and discovery. We utilize the most state of the art equipment and training along with our large onsite AV classroom.

Diving is a fun and safe sport, but yes, it is a water sport and with that comes risks. Without the proper training the risks can become a real problem for the undertrained diver. NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center
NAUI is the diver training organization of choice of NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas (USA) where the astronauts in the United States space program train for Extra Vehicular Activities (EVAs) – space walks – in the world’s largest pool that contains a replica of the International Space Station and an Orbiter cargo bay.
NAUI’s alliance with the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory provides training materials, certification cards and collateral materials for their scuba program, and NAUI instructors are on staff to assure the safety and excellence of the NASA astronaut diver program.
